Postcard-Sign (Off) Language

words out of bones writing cursive
on air. limbs bend, reach, fold

to form each letter, then stay
rigid after every stroke. this is

how, in choppy stance, she speaks
to the deaf man before

he grows tired, looks away, turns
the light off, dreams

of underwater sightseeing
over oyster culture farms

where he often snaps
pictures of opened, harvested shells,

takes them with him as he wakes
beside the blind, quiet woman.

I love the message here...even in the most fragmented and challenged of lives, there is a giving and sharing that makes us whole, when brought together as one. Beautiful, S.L.
