Mijas Costa Dawn (Amanecer de Mijas Costa)
Today is young enough
for the lighthouse to blink.
Star lanterns are snuffed
by Africa’s haze.
Your silhouette crispens
as the sun rises
from a nectarine bedspread.
I blow a kiss
and palms
tell the ocean breeze
to hush.
I know that tilt of your head
without seeing
your eyes.

Amanecer de Mijas Costa (Spanish version)
El día es aún joven,
el faro aún parpadea.
Faroles de estrellas escondidas
por la neblina africana.
Tu silueta se delinea
mientras el sol asciende
de una colcha de nectarinas.
Te soplo un beso
y las palmeras
mandan a la brisa del océano
a que se calle.
Se lo que sientes
sin tener que ver
tus ojos.
